This animation shouldn't require much introduction (but maybe it does as it's kind of old and you're so young). "End of ze World" was created by a guy called Fluid in 2003, and it was one of the early viral internet animations. In a pre-YouTube era when emailing giant swf files around or finding someone to host the animation was the way to go. Of course, we do have YouTube now so... Figured better post this before the Mayan end of the world goes down later. Legendary.

Call Me Kaley - Full Version
What to say about this, watch the BBT cast do a flash mob on set. Carly Rae Jepsen spoofs are well overdone now but hey, good times in Big Bang Theory land.
UPDATE 11/16/2012 17:27: Supposedly the cast actually performed a full choreographed skit but the notion of posting it online was making the copyright-sense of the CBS lawyers tingle because their counterparts over in Carly Rae Jepsen's camp might come calling(among others), so it wasn't posted. But of course, by end of day today someone from the audience had surfaced that filmed the whole thing (a plus of a live studio audience) and posted it on their own! Voila:

Star Wars Uncut: Empire trailer
The Star Wars Uncut team is launching Chapter 2 (err, Episode) in the epic fan-contributed piece-by-piece remake saga. This trailer is made up of a bunch of random clips from Star Wars Celebration -- it's actually a good little video of the sort of random craziness you would find there. heh

Star Wars Detours animated series clips
After being under strict wraps for a long time, the formerly known as "Untitled Star Wars animated tv series" - now known as Star Wars Detours - was recently revealed to the world through a trailer and series of promo clips (watch the 6 clip playlist below). The notable thing about it is that Star Wars uber-geeks and Robot Chicken masterminds Seth Green and friends are involved. So what you get is an animated version of the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials sort of. It's hard to knock as those specials are legend-ary. Definitely some of the funniest, most rewatched and referenced humour around Yesterday's Cheese. And on that note, it seems fitting that this post, our 500th, is on the Star Wars humour tip. Not only is it our most frequent post tag, but like I said, the Star Wars Robot Chicken episodes are easily some of our favorite stuff ever. Anyways, we'll see where Detours goes - tagline for the show is "the other side of the stars, between the wars". It might end up pretty cheesy, but as far as Star Wars humour goes, should be pretty hard to screw up.

David Fincher Knows Film Titles
Accomplished/famous film director David Fincher (you might remember from such movie moments as Fight Club, Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) tends to really put creative work into the opening titles of his films. This video is a brief montage of a bunch of the cool things he's done for opening titles. Kinda neat when you think of the filmography behind it. It's from a big interview with him about filmmaking and title design on Art of the Title.

Windows 95 Guide from your Friends Rachel and Chandler
Just going to leave this here. If you haven't seen this ridiculous but oh so 90s promotional vid, worth it for the "Friends" (but not Friends at all) "cyber" sitcom intro. Oh, also for things like "cyber" and well, Windows 95. Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston couldn't resist Bill Gate$ apparently. It's bizarre, like the bizarro British Friends in 30 Rock "Chums"

LeVar Burton Geordi TNG Screen Test Photo
Oh the gems that will be unleashed on our modern internet with the release of the Star Trek The Next Generation Blu-rays.
Seems like all these things are going to need some TNG Season 8 humour to go along with them. How about this one:
Wow, ok, so we apologize for spreading some misinformation all those years ago - this was one of the other actors in the running for the Geordi job, Clarence Gilyard Jr. Confirmed by Mr. Burton himself weeks after we posted.

So, if we were to modify the main deflector dish to send out an inverse tachyon pulse we could create an "anti-time" anomaly, and then hop in to ride it all the way back to last weekend to catch the cast of Next Gen in Calgary.
Next, watch Wil Wheaton's emotional answer to "What's it like being allowed back up with the real actors, Wesley?"
And shouldn't they all look exactly like they did in the finale?

Star Wars Fans Never Happy - How Jedi Should Have Ended, Star Wars Uncut
Star Wars fans are never happy. For years, they've been critiquing, protesting, having lightsaber duels amongst themselves and loving and hating George Lucas and his epic film universe creation. The latest in a galaxy of Star Wars commentary, thanks to the DIY engine that is the Internet, is something from a site called How It Should Have Ended. For this edition of their video series they tackle How Return Of The Jedi Should Have Ended.
Wait, there's more. After the project got put together a few years ago, Star Wars Uncut has been released to the masses nicely edited and packed up into one epic New Hope Director's Cut. If you recall, the project was for fan submissions of every single 15 second block of Star Wars to be pieced together creating a unique spin on the entire movie. If you've got 2 hours, it might be worth checking out ..if anything for the randomness and to up your geek level +10. I think we will tackle it 10 minutes at a time.

My First Dictionary Corrupting The Cheese One Word at a Time
We have a new contestant in the recent battle of print books around these parts. The battle that started, well....now -- when we got a second contestant (I mean, who has print books around, ebook battles would be lame).
After hyping it up for a week post-holidays, today Andrew revealed this intriguing collection of humour (with a 'u') he received from his parents. My First Dictionary is a satirical children's dictionary with some crazy definitions coupled with innocent-styled illustrations. My immediate comment when flipping through it and reading some was "it's like it was written by The Internet". And indeed, it fits comfortably on stage in front of that online crowd because where does alot of the material live? That's right, on the net, in the author Ross Horsley's My First Dictionary blog.
Some examples, that don't even scratch the surface:
They get crazier, just check the blog. Definitely worth some lunchtime entertainment or a random 'definition of the day' to put a smile on the faces of colleagues, friends and family. (maybe not so much the small children -- please keep this away from them.)
(what was the other print book contestant? Another language-related thing of course. I think MFD wins this round purely on the basis of being in, you know, English.)

Nostalgic: Father is nostalgic. He is remembering the happier times before you were born.
