Star Wars Detours animated series clips

After being under strict wraps for a long time, the formerly known as "Untitled Star Wars animated tv series" - now known as Star Wars Detours - was recently revealed to the world through a trailer and series of promo clips (watch the 6 clip playlist below).  The notable thing about it is that Star Wars uber-geeks and Robot Chicken masterminds Seth Green and friends are involved.  So what you get is an animated version of the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials sort of.  It's hard to knock as those specials are legend-ary.  Definitely some of the funniest, most rewatched and referenced humour around Yesterday's Cheese.  And on that note, it seems fitting that this post, our 500th, is on the Star Wars humour tip. Not only is it our most frequent post tag, but like I said, the Star Wars Robot Chicken episodes are easily some of our favorite stuff ever. Anyways, we'll see where Detours goes  - tagline for the show is "the other side of the stars, between the wars". It might end up pretty cheesy, but as far as Star Wars humour goes, should be pretty hard to screw up.

Harrison Ford reunited with Chewie

Harrison Ford doing the late night rounds promoting the new Cowboys & Aliens movie was on Jimmy Kimmel last night and a little reunion was set up.  We're not really sure what went down, likely something in a galaxy somewhere far, far away, but there's some bad blood between Han Solo and Chewbacca apparently.

Yesterday's Cheese 2-Year Anniversary!

Yes, that's right, The Cheese has been rollin along for 2 Years today.  It all started with Our Favourite Dianes and has carried on as an archive of stuff from random conversations and stuff from the internet that impacted us in some way (read: LOLz from teh interwebs).

We've also gotten better at this whole posting/blogging thing too.  Staying on top of all the trends and what's awesome has caused a nice upward trend in traffic -- pretty c00l.

Maybe we'll tweak the look in the future but the main focus is to hopefully continue posting (we've been lacking a bit lately, but maybe because we lost a bit of touch with our top poster or the internet has not been as funny lately, haha).

YC! continues to be a fun little place to share links and content, so here's to the future, whatever randomness that may bring!

Double Down Take Down Rewarded!

Received an envelope from what I guessed was KFC Canada today -- inside was a little something for the video I made about our Double Down Take Down lunch antics at the office. Ages ago now, somewhere around the height of the DD craze (awhile after our actual DD Day), KFC posted they wanted to see the best Canadian Double Down videos.  Didn't think much of it initially, but at the last second, decided what the heck, and submitted my video.  I jokingly asked them how many Canadian vids there could possibly be, as I'd only seen one or two floating around.

Anyways, sure enough, this finally showed up (I did wonder if it got eaten in the post):
Thank you! Enjoy. Gift Certificate courtesy of KFC's PR Firm, Strategic Objectives
Pretty cool. Nice reward for a fun video project.  Our arteries earned it! haha..etc..

Best part is I just realized the g/c is good for TACO BELL as well, ohh yesss.

250 posts on Yesterday's Cheese!

Wanted to write something quick on occasion of the 250th post on Yesterday's Cheese. One only has to browse the tag cloud to find tons of gems of mostly humorous and very random things that have come up in our daily work and net surfing. What might have been started around lunch conversations has evolved into a nice archived snapshot of laughs and good times and memories that brightened up our work days and beyond. Cheers everyone.
